About Us
The Masons Island Company (MICO) was formed in 1912. Its mission was to develop Masons Island while maintaining the unique beauty and serenity of the island. Originally a summer retreat reached by boat from nearby Noank, Connecticut, the island, under the stewardship of the Allyn family, has evolved into a wonderful community of homes on and near the remarkably beautiful Fishers Island Sound. Rufus Allyn and his brother, Louis Allyn, the third generation of Allyns to run MICO, along with Roy Bohlander and Cindy Allyn, continue the family tradition and heritage of offering land for building to suit an assortment of different buyers’ interests and needs.

Our legacy . . .
James H. Allyn (right) oversaw the development of Masons Island throughout the 1900s. Pictured here with his brother Gurdon (a paratrooper who died during the D-Day Invasion of Normandy), Allyn had artistic sense, talent as an architect and engineer, and an ability as a builder.
